Oh, please let this be true, or at least close to the truth. I've been wishing for something like that for a long time.

1, Branching quest structure, that gives you choices on how your own story progresses

Ooooooo, exciting! From what I've seen of Nightfall so far, I like it. I have a better opinion of it at this point than I did of Factions at the same point in hype.
|
Same here, Nightfall sounds like a much more exciting game right now than Factions ever did. Not that I hate Factions or anything, just that I think Factions is only "ok" and Nightfall sounds "fantastic". Especially since the magazine confirmed we get custom/controllable henchies, and player-chosen story progression. Wow!!!

Most likely a quick cap of the story like they did with the Prophecies intro coming from Cantha.
The story sounds like a ploy to get people interested in previous chapters.

Try holding down the control key on your keyboard and then rolling the mouse wheel back and forward. This should zoom/unzoom the page so that you can adjust it to your liking.

According to the "leaked" list of features that several games retailers posted some time ago:
"Customizable Heroes (party NPCs) that level up with the player, follow player instructions in combat, and use armor, weapons, and skills of the player's choice."

Yeah! I will never have to type the letters L, F or G again!
Ah, wait. They probably still won't pick items up, will they?

Henchies almost do that now, some of my best Vizunah missions was when the other team is henchies.

Bot team FTW The only times I've managed masters (5 times in total) is if the other team is a full bot team.
But meh.. My school starts just before then, hopefully I have a properly working 'net connection by then so I can pick up PC format and try this out

Oh wow you are so lucky. September 1st is a week after school starts for me...
But on another note, my birthday is september 2 so if there really is a event then, then it will sorta seem like a birthday present to me from Arena Net so I'm not complaining!

I wonder why the magazine use a picture of Nika and not Devona or one of the new classes? Can anyone awnser this? Could Nika be important for the next chapter for a Factions / Nightfall tie in?

Its a possible idea Glory. Devona somewhat tied into chapter 2 thanks to Mhenlo. So yes possibly both could tie into Chapter 3 in one way or another. I am sure this will be a recurring theme. Chapter one will tie into all the other Chapters as they are trying to build the storyline.

I'm not denying this or anything, but I do find it odd that the only source (so far) that's giving specifics (and keys, I assume?) on a PVE event a little more than 3 weeks away is a single UK game magazine. Did they get a scoop, or will other mags possibly catch up?

yes. I do enjoy factions for what it is worth- challenge missions/alliance battles/ quick XP for new characters....
But I am just as excited about the next chapter to be as immersive as the first game was.
Factions is perfect for levelling up a character- although unlike GW1 you really have to grind the quests to get to the fun areas [Zos Chrivos FTW ]
Im hoping Nightfall will be like GW 1 in that you have a slower progression enabling you to learn more of your professions' skills and ways of using them.
Basically i look at it like this: each chapter is going to be geared toward some aspect of the community. GW 1 came out, and everyone complained about slow levelling, quest reward skills, etc....
Factions came out and changed that... quick levelling, easy skill aquisition.
I think Nightfall will be more like the first game, although geared even more toward the ppl that seem to always go solo w/henchies. Itll decrease the amount of people complaining about the difficulty of finding a group, because using henchies will actually become more rewarding of an experience-- especially for all you controll freaks out there
